Azimuth questions
For Azimuth Forza questions, the source baseline is the official itch page, checked 2026-10-24. It supplies the definition, price, game builds, folder layout, hardware requirements and offline limitations. This is a documentation-based guide, not a hands-on review.
Which sources support the version, performance and mod answers?
- 0.10.0 progress: unreleased wheel/FM5/FM6/FH3 work, the official download source and rights notice.
- 0.9.9 notes and 0.9.10 notes: experimental settings, pipeline rebuilding and remaining city stutter.
- Performance guidance: the 15-60 minute warm-up estimate and Default preset comparison advice.
- FH2MP README: a separate community online patch; modified-wrapper PSA: no developer support for modified setups.
Misspellings and unrelated uses of Azimuth
If a search for "azimut" or "zazimuth" meant this Forza project, use the official name Azimuth and the Almost There Games itch page. A spelling variant does not authenticate a different download. Generic compass, yacht or "Project Azimuth" results do not establish a connection to this wrapper. "Recompiled" in a video or database title is not the developer's technical description.
For longer answers, use the download and installation links here, the supported-games table on the versions page, or the troubleshooting index for a specific symptom. This page does not use third-party player-count metadata as proof of official multiplayer.

Questions
What is Azimuth? Is it an emulator?
Azimuth is a wrapper by Almost There Games. Xbox One Forza Horizon 2 runs its own x86-64 code on Windows or on Linux through Proton. WinRT and Xbox DirectX calls are translated. It is not an emulator and not a Microsoft port.
Where do I download it, and is it free?
Only from almost-there-games.itch.io/azimuth. The price is name-your-own, including zero. The file on 2026-10-24 was azimuth-windows.zip, version 0.9.10, about 2.8 MB.
Does the zip include the game?
No. You need your own Xbox One 1.0.0.64 folder containing era.vbi, Mount/, and EmbeddedXvd/.
Will the Xbox 360 version work?
No. Use the Xbox One build. The 360 release is a different game. Xenia is a 360 emulator and is not part of Azimuth.
Can I play online?
Not in the official build. There is no Xbox Live, no multiplayer, and no achievements. FH2MP is a separate community patch with its own version pins.
What PC do I need?
A CPU with F16C, 16 GB of RAM, and a GPU at least at Steam Deck level. Intel integrated graphics are not supported.
Does it run on Steam Deck?
The developer documents Linux through Proton and reports Steam Deck reference performance of 720p at 60 fps or 1080p at 30 fps. Those are developer figures, not a guarantee or a benchmark by this site.
What is the latest version? Is 0.10.0 out?
On 2026-10-24 the public build was 0.9.10. Version 0.10.0 was still in development, including wheel support and experimental notes for other Forza games.
Why is it stuttering after an update?
The developer says cache and graphics-pipeline rebuilding can cause 15 to 60 minutes of stutter that gradually subsides. The 0.9.10 notes also list continuing city stutter. Not every hitch is a cache rebuild; see the performance guide if it persists.
Is the download safe?
No security guarantee is made here. The project is closed source and AI-assisted; those labels alone do not prove it safe or unsafe. Use the official itch source and investigate antivirus warnings without disabling protection.
Does it support Forza Horizon 5?
Horizon 5 is not listed in the official 0.9.10 support list or the 0.10.0 progress note. There is no documented support in those sources; this is not a statement about every future release.
Does it support ultrawide and high frame rates?
Yes. The developer lists 16:9, 16:10, 21:9 and 32:9; 30, 60 or higher up to the display refresh rate. HDR10 is experimental; above-60 frame rates and Ultra are very experimental in the 0.9.9 notes. Performance depends on the system.
How do I exit the game?
Hold View/Back on the controller or Esc for two seconds, as the official page instructs.
